Lodging
and Meals
Relax
in our historic lodge and soak up the ambiance of years gone by
in front of a blazing fire in our marble and cedar fireplace.
Venture outside for a hike and experience the tranquility of the
snow capped Ruby Mountains and surrounding hillsides. Watch the
cowboys sorting cattle in the meadows and corrals below the
hilltop headquarters. Learn about the legendary cowboy culture
of the West around a crackling campfire. This is your 71 Ranch
experience.
Watching the sun
dip slowly behind the endless horizon of an evening Nevada sky is
a spectator sport from our deck. Recently remodeled and
refurbished, the Lodge provides cozy and comfortable
accommodations for your stay with us in the Cavvy, Remuda or
Wrangler rooms. Separate from the Lodge, the Buckaroo and Halleck
cabins each have two adjoining bedrooms with a shared bath for
larger families. The Sod House, a cabin complete with the original
sod roof from pioneer days, is a favorite accommodation of many
guests.
During
the spring, summer and fall, our spacious lawn hosts special
events, parties and family gatherings. We can cater any type of
meal – BBQ’s are our specialty! Our wrap around deck invites
social camaraderie and is the perfect place to share tall tales of
your own wild west adventure. You
may also have the entire ranch to yourself or for your group if
you wish. Just inquire!
Though
our overnight capacity is small (up to 15 guests), we are able to
accommodate larger groups for daily events. Seminars and small
corporate retreats with all the perks of a big city hotel are
available, but void of the formality and business-like atmosphere.
Our recreation and conference room is perfect for company
meetings, and we will work with you to provide whatever amenities
you need for your event to be a success.
AND NOW
FOR THE BEST PART OF ANY VACATION... THE FOOD!
Keeping the ranch cook happy is a high
priority on any ranch still operating with a cookhouse. When you
visit us here at the 71, you will definitely understand why. Our
ranch cook will accommodate your special dietary needs and keep
everyone happy with three full meals a day.
What kind of a cattle ranch would we be
if we didn’t serve beef? (The West wasn’t won on salad.) Whether
served at a western barbeque on the deck or as prime rib in the
dinning room, you will be spoiled forever once you taste real
homegrown beef, juicy and tender and cooked to perfection. Forget
your diet and enjoy real ranch cooking – hearty and healthy meals
with homemade breads, fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables, and
truly sinful desserts.
The ranch does not have a liquor
license, so we do not serve alcoholic beverages; however, you are
welcome to BYOB.

A day in the country is better than a week in the city.
The life of a cowboy is closer than you think.
